Shanghai, 30 June 2014 – Luxury British car maker Aston Martin showcased an exceptional line-up of its sports cars for the Aston Martin On Track event at the Zhuhai International Circuit over the weekend. The VIP event, held over three days, provided guests the opportunity to experience the brand’s latest models: the flagship GT Vanquish Volante, which made its China debut at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year; the timeless DB9, and the world’s most beautiful four-door sports car, Rapide S.
A senior driving instructor from the company’s headquarters also attended the event to help guests discover the brand’s sporting DNA.
As a brand born out of a passion for racing, Aston Martin is currently running the most extensive motor sport campaign in the company’s 101 year history.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans, held last month, is the most famous endurance race in the world. This was the tenth consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans for Aston Martin Racing and the #95 Young Driver Vantage GTE raced to victory in the GTE AM class. The Gulf-liveried car finished two laps ahead of the nearest rival in what was the largest class of this race with 15 competitive GT cars.
Last week, Aston Martin finished fifth overall in the 2014 Nürburgring 24 Hours, possibly the toughest endurance race in the world, with its #007 V12 Vantage GT3 – and it took three class podiums with its close-to-production V12 Vantage and two V8 Vantage N430s.
