Frankfurt am Main/ Vienna, 14 October 2011. The Aston Martin Virage remains on track for success. After having already been honoured in Germany, readers of the motoring magazine "Auto Review" in Austria have now also voted it as the most popular car. The Virage Volante won in the "Convertibles" category and beat four competitors from Germany and Japan. Also in the category "Sports Cars", the Virage landed a podium finish. Here the Coupé finished second in a group of 12 competitor models.
Jeffrey L Scott, Managing Director Aston Martin Lagonda of Europe, said: “Aston Martin was elected the coolest brand in the UK for the fifth time in a row. This is a great honor for us that we are very proud of. As a global brand that we are today, it is however just as important to us to receive this kind of recognition from other regions. Austria is an important market and so we are very pleased with the successful performance of the Virage.”
The Aston Martin Virage had its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The Virage is positioned between the DBS and the DB9, completing the sporty GT-series of the British sports car maker. Its V12, 6.0 litre engine provides 490 bhp (365kW) and 570 Nm of torque. This sportiness is complemented by a newly developed adaptive damping system (ADS), which provides optimum grip in variable road conditions. This combination makes the Aston Martin Virage a powerful but still comfortable ride, with also the refined design details and modern elegance expected of contemporary Aston Martins.
Just recently, the Aston Martin Virage was awarded in Germany by the car magazine "Auto Bild Klassik" with the Golden Steering Wheel 2011 being crowned as a "Classic Car of the Future". It is available as a Coupe and Volante through the official Aston Martin dealer network in Austria, British Cars, with locations in Vienna and Salzburg
