Frankfurt am Main / Klosters Davos, 21 January 2011. Horsepower in two very different forms will be coming together this weekend in Davos Klosters, Switzerland. For the first time, the British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin will be present as a partner of the 7th Berenberg Snow Polo competition; a major international tournament. In conjunction with Aston Martin St. Gallen – one of the company’s five dealerships in Switzerland – Aston Martin will sponsor one of the six participating teams.
“Our sports cars embody the elegance, agility and power that racing and Polo horses are admired for making this a fitting event to showcase the Aston Martin brand,” Jeffrey L. Scott, Managing Director of Aston Martin Lagonda of Europe, said. “In addition, this event is an excellent opportunity for us to show our presence in Switzerland as one of our major European markets.”
On and off the field, both the presence of Aston Martin and Aston Martin St. Gallen will be communicated by the team players’ jerseys, on banners and video walls throughout the event. The main performers on four wheels will feature a selection from the current Aston Martin range: the Aston Martin DBS, Rapide and V8 Vantage plus one of the very first Vantage GT4 race cars, which is run by the racing team of Aston Martin St. Gallen. Also on display will be the new Aston Martin Cygnet; the company’s new luxurious city car, which will become available to the European market this spring.
Interested tournament guests also have the opportunity to get to know the Rapide and the V8 Vantage in finer detail through test drives on offer at location.
Players of the Aston Martin team, which is fighting for the Alpine Trophy of the tournament this year, are Daniel Waechter (CH), Marcel Geser (CH) and Oscar Mancini (ARG).
The 7th Berenberg Snow Polo – the only competition of its type in the world that is played during evening hours – takes place at the Walter Meier polo arena of Klosters from 21st to 24th January 2011.
