Frankfurt / Dusseldorf, 24 November 2010. Aston Martin remains the most popular foreign sports car brand for the readers of the German car magazine Auto Zeitung. In the readers’ vote Auto Trophy 2010 they voted for Aston Martin to receive three awards: for the Rapide, the DBS and the V8 Vantage. The result sees Aston Martin as once again one of the most successful car makers in the annual Auto Trophy vote.
"We are successful because we build sports cars that are without compromise when it comes to their character and performance and that are elegant in their design", said Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin Chief Executive, at the Auto Trophy gala event in Dusseldorf. "Aston Martin has never been a mainstream brand and never will be. Our brand stands for exclusivity and luxury, for special and desirable products. We are authentic in everything we do. This makes us a cool brand for many people and we are proud of that."
In the category Luxury cars / Imported the Aston Martin Rapide, which was successfully introduced to the market earlier this year, took a unanimous victory winning 32.6 per cent of the readers vote. In the category Sports cars / Imported the V8 Vantage won with 28.1 per cent, and the third trophy went to Aston Martin DBS in the category Super Sports car Imported with 18.5 per cent of the vote.
This year is the 23nd edition of the Auto Trophy held by the magazine Auto Zeitung. Some 103,000 readers participated in the 2010 vote choosing their favourite cars from a selection of 400 vehicle models in 29 categories.
