21 March, Auckland, New Zealand: Aston Martin’s impressive new flagship Super GT, Vanquish S, was unveiled today in New Zealand by Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer.
The ultimate super GT, the stylish Vanquish S is a vehicle honoured to deliver more intense thrills and an even more scintillating performance, with significant enhancements to the engine, chassis and aerodynamics.
“I am delighted to reveal our new Super GT, the Vanquish S, to our New Zealand customers,” said Dr Palmer on his first trip to New Zealand as CEO of the iconic British marque. “The Vanquish S confidently asserts itself within the Aston Martin range, distinguishing itself from the new DB11. A spectacular machine in every sense, it’s a great addition to our range, and one we expect will appeal to our New Zealand clients.”
The new model was revealed to a private audience at Mantells On The Water, a luxurious harbour-side venue overlooking Auckland Harbour Bridge. Guests were also updated on the progress of Auckland’s brand new state-of-the-art Aston Martin showroom, due to be completed by quarter two, 2017.
Equipped with an uprated 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 588 PS, Vanquish S has a top speed of 323km/h, and achieves 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The ultimate supercar offers a truly unforgettable driving experience with an 8-speed Touchtronic III Transmission, quad-exhaust tailpipes, and revised inlet manifolds for increased engine airflow.
Visually the Vanquish S can be readily distinguished by a new aerodynamic package, cloaked in a suit of carbon. A 2x2 carbon fibre twill front splitter and rear diffuser will not only accentuate exterior styling, but improve high-speed stability as well.
Combined with striking new quad exhaust outlets, the Vanquish S has a more aggressive appearance, entirely fitting for Aston Martin’s most overtly sporting GT production model.
Inside the cabin, the Vanquish S displays luxurious interior features such as Filograph quilt design options, Bang & Olufsen audio and the AMi III Infotainment system with all new satellite navigation.
Vanquish S embodies the very essence of Aston Martin and yet redefines each core element to create a machine of amplified sporting capability; a combination of unbound craftsmanship and power that comes together in utmost harmony.
Michael Giltrap, Joint Managing Director, Aston Martin Auckland, said: “We are proud to have represented the Aston Martin brand in Auckland since 1993, and with the successful launch of DB11, and now the Vanquish S arriving in New Zealand, the timing for the opening of our new two-storey 13-car showroom couldn’t be better. The new multi-million dollar facility will offer full sales, parts and aftersales capabilities, and will be open by Q2 this year.”
The Vanquish S is available in both Coupe and Volante, with a starting price of $395,000 plus on-road costs. First customer deliveries in New Zealand are due to commence in April.
