Aston Martin Racing works drivers Stefan Mücke (DE) and Jonny Adam (GB) will join British GT Championship driver Paul White in the Strata 21 V12 Vantage GT3, run by experienced 24 Hours Series team KPM Racing, in the championship’s opening round Dubai 24 Hours this weekend (9 January).
Gaydon, 6 January 2015 - Aston Martin Racing works drivers Stefan Mücke (DE) and Jonny Adam (GB) will join British GT Championship driver Paul White in the Strata 21 V12 Vantage GT3, run by experienced 24 Hours Series team KPM Racing, in the championship’s opening round Dubai 24 Hours this weekend (9 January).
The twice-around-the-clock endurance event is the first race of the 2015 season for the Aston Martin Racing works drivers who both had success in 2014; Mücke in the FIA World Endurance Championship and Adam in Blancpain GT Series and the British GT Championship.
“Dubai 24 Hours is always a great way to kick start the season," commented Mücke. "But, it's not an easy race. There are 95 cars with huge speed differences and it means that traffic management is difficult. We will hope for a clean race and aim for the GT3 Am podium.”
The pair will race the same V12 Vantage GT3 with which the Aston Martin Racing works team contested the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June last year, but this time it will don Strata 21’s red, black and white Milltek Sport livery.
Adam, who has been racing the V12 Vantage GT3 each year since 2012, commented: “This is my fourth season racing the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 and its still as enjoyable to drive as the first time I tested it at the end of 2011. It is one of the most competitive GT3 cars on the market at the moment and the Dubai Autodrome layout will suit its strengths with its powerful V12 engine and efficient aero package.
“Our driver line up is strong for Dubai 24 Hour with Stefan and Paul, and I look forward to working with the engineers and mechanics at KPM Racing.”
The V12 Vantage GT3 has had success around the world with major race and championship wins under its belt. In 2013, it won the British GT Championship with Beechdean AMR and it finished in the top five in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June last year.
It will take on its next challenge, Dubai 24 Hours, this weekend with the race starting at 1400hrs on Friday 9 January.
