Nürburgring, 17 May 2013 – Aston Martin Racing is proud to announce Jumeirah Group, the global hospitality company and a member of Dubai Holding, as its latest partner for the 41st ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours this weekend (18-20 May).
The current FIA World Endurance Championship GTE Pro leader, Aston Martin Racing is running an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the world-famous 24-hour endurance race, and the V12-powered charger will carry the luxury hotel group’s branding as it challenges the 200-strong grid for the race win.
The union of these two powerful luxury brands comes at a key point in the history of both, with Aston Martin celebrating its centenary in 2013, and Jumeirah Group currently having 15 new hotels under development around the world.
Later this year, Jumeirah will once again partner with the coveted sports car manufacturer for the Aston Martin Centenary Week between the 15th and 21st July. As part of the week-long worldwide celebrations, 100 Aston Martin cars are set to drive in convoy throughout Europe, for a Centenary Drive that will see participants make five stops throughout Europe. The drive will conclude in London where drivers and passengers will enjoy hospitality from Jumeirah’s quintessentially British hotels; the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel and Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living.
Regional General Manager, Derek Picot said: “We are extremely proud to announce Jumeirah’s sponsorship of Aston Martin and our upcoming support at the 41st Nürburgring 24h race. As two luxury brands with a shared passion for heritage and a commitment to excellence, we look forward to building upon this prestigious centenary partnership through the consistent support of Jumeirah hotels & resorts around the world”.
Jeremey Scoones, Head of Partnerships at Aston Martin Racing adds: “Aston Martin Racing is thrilled to be partnering with Jumeirah for this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours. Jumeirah’s world-class portfolio of hotels and resorts make it the perfect partner for Aston Martin Racing and we look forward to building on this prestigious partnership during what is a milestone year for our brand”.
Aston Martin’s relationship with the Nordschleife is deep-rooted; it won the Nürburgring 1,000 km race in 1957, ’58 and ’59 and, as well as entering the 24-hour endurance race since 2006, the manufacturer has regularly taken part in the circuit’s own series, VLN. Further, many of its current sports cars have been developed and signed off on the legendary track.
This year, Aston Martin’s centenary, marks the brand’s most ambitious assault on the 25.9 km circuit to date. Aston Martin Racing is entering a V12 Vantage GT3 as it embarks on its most dedicated attempt yet to challenge for an N24 win.
