Gaydon / Frankfurt, 22 June 2010. Aston Martin is to enter St. Gallen with a new dedicated dealership, focusing on this prime position to serve eastern Switzerland directly. This is an important move in the luxury manufacturer’s expansion plans in order to further strengthen their representation in this historically significant overseas market for the British marque.
Due to strong customer demand in the region, an interim facility in St. Gallen has received the green-light for opening on the 1st of August 2010. Aston Martin customers and enthusiasts will then be able to view and test-drive selected models from the full range consisting of the V8 and V12 Vantage, DB9, DBS and now the successfully launched and race-tested new four-door Rapide at their convenience. In addition to this 186 m2 customer reception area, an approved service centre will also be in operation to serve Aston Martin owners in the region.
On the occasion of a VIP preview event held in St. Gallen, Dr. Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin Chief Executive, said: “Switzerland represents one of Aston Martin’s strongest and most important markets in terms of unit sales. This comes as no surprise in a country whose name is synonymous with quality, detail perfection, and superior appreciation of hand-craft production. This is where a successful luxury business like Aston Martin must be in order to truly stand the test of time.”
Demonstrating further investment in this province a new unique permanent facility is planned for completion in the future. This will be a distinctive structure combining all of Aston Martin’s unique design principals together with customer specific requirements all under one roof. With drafts for construction near conclusion, completion of this new sophisticated compound is planned for early 2012.
Dr. Andreas Baenziger, owner of the St. Gallen dealership, said: “The start of this official partnership symbolises our shared personal values with Aston Martin, whom we are proud to represent here. The brand, this team and our customers all share the same strong philosophy that drives the sports car world. We are excited to come together in turning this long awaited venture into a successful reality.”
As an exclusive presentation at the VIP preview event, the long awaited One-77 was the highlight of the evening to invited guests. With only 77 units planned in total, the 700bhp super sportscar is at present reaching the final stages in its engineering development process. The production of this one-of-a-kind model will start this summer at a specially dedicated facility in Gaydon, England.
St. Gallen proudly becomes the fifth official Aston Martin dealership in Switzerland, alongside further locations in Cadenazzo, Geneve, Safenwil and Zurich.
