Thousands of fanatical race fans greeted Aston Martin’s return to the ADAC Nϋrburgring 24-hour race today.
After taking on the race with a sole Vantage N24 last year – which achieved 24th position from 220 entrants – the famous British marque is back in force for 2007 with a four-car representation. This includes two Vantage N24s from Aston Martin, with one once again led by Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez.
Making its debut at the Nϋrburgring, is the Aston Martin Austria/Phoenix Racing DBRS9, which is joined by two Aston Martin Vantage N24s and a further N24 from Herreman Racing to compete in the 35th running of this ultimate endurance test amongst over 200 entrants.
Head of Product Communications & Motorsport, David King said: “We’re all delighted to back at the Nϋrburgring, where the organisers and spectators have always been very welcoming to us and we’re looking forward to what promises to be a tough but exciting 24-hours.
“This race is different to last year for us – when we had just one car – we’re aiming for the DBRS9 to make a big impression here, but the strategy for the N24s is the same as last year – drive to finish and again demonstrate the performance of an almost standard car to build on last year’s showing.”
The race starts at 2pm (BST).
Positional updates will be posted hourly via www.astonmartin.com during the race with more detailed updates following every three hours.
