Aston Martin’s bright yellow N24 Vantage is continuing to blaze its way around the International Circuit in Bahrain, currently in ninth position, as rainfall marks dawn break in the Arabian Gulf.
Earlier, with darkness engulfing the Bahrain circuit, the N24 Vantage had consolidated a place firmly within the leading ten cars.
All three drivers - Chris Porritt, Aston Martin’s Vehicle Engineering Manager; Horst von Saurma, editor-in-chief of Sport Auto magazine and development driver Wolfgang Schuhbauer – have now all completed three stints in the car, each lasting for in excess of two hours.
Team Manager, Dave King said: “The drivers are coping well with the unexpected wet conditions - with standing water in many places on the circuit - the full wet Yokohama tyres are inspiring confidence”.
“We’re entering the final stretch now. For the team it is quite an adrenalin boost to know the finishing line is within sight – we need to stay focussed for the remaining six hours and we should be on course for another strong final placing.”
The race concludes at 2pm (GMT +3) on Saturday 16 December.
