As the 24-hour race of Bahrain approached the first quarter mark, Aston Martin’s N24 Vantage occupied 10th position at the International Circuit.
Chris Porritt, Aston Martin’s Vehicle Engineering Manager, opened proceedings earlier today from a starting position of 14th and after achieving a consistent race pace throughout his first stint, handed over to development driver Wolfgang Schuhbauer as dusk descended at the at the Bahrain International Circuit.
As he readied to begin his first stint Wolfgang said: “I’m really looking forward to getting into the car. I’ve raced at Dubai before, but – as for my co-drivers – this is my first time at Bahrain so the track is new to me. We’ve had some practice here this week so I’ll be looking to maintain the consistent pace that Chris (Porritt) set in his stint.”
Horst von Saurma, editor-in-chief of Sport Auto magazine, began his first spell behind the wheel as the race approached the four hour mark and is scheduled to guide the N24 Vantage into the second quarter of the race.
Team Manager Dave King said: “The team have made a solid start and we’re sticking to our race plan at what is still a very early stage in the race.
“All three drivers have been registering a good consistent pace and we need to maintain that as we head into the second stints.”
The race concludes at 2pm (GMT +3) on Saturday 16 December.
