GAYDON HEADQUARTERS

The dynamic architecture and the elegant materials used in Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters in Warwickshire, England underline the quality of the design and finish of the cars produced there.

The building is the embodiment of Aston Martin and its cars, reflecting the power of the idea, the aesthetic and inner beauty of technically advanced solutions and the very soul that comes from hands that create pure sports cars.

A Tailor-Made Location

Gaydon combines cutting-edge technology with hand-craftsmanship and traditional techniques. Comprising an office block, adjoining production facility and a state-of-the-art design studio, Aston Martin's global headquarters provides an infrastructure ideally suited to innovation, creativity and advanced engineering.

Since opening in 2003 Gaydon has embodied the progress and structural growth made by Aston Martin over the past decade. With a diverse model range, designed, produced and supported within one location, Gaydon has allowed Aston Martin to develop into a globally respected brand.

Truly unique - One-77

Centrally designed, engineered and manufactured in Gaydon, the Aston Martin One-77 is the ultimate expression of Aston Martin. With only 77 examples ever being produced, One-77 is an exclusive car for only the most discerning of Aston Martin customers.

The One-77 facility is located in its own specially created standalone building. Inside the facility the distinctive production space is laboratory-like in its design and detail, an open plan 1,000 sqm serene space with its white walls, floor and ceiling containing four build positions and a host of specialist equipment and tools. The facility is a marked departure from a conventional automotive production space, with each car remaining static throughout the build, rather than progressing from station to station.

THE FUTURE OF DESIGN

Opened in 2007, the Gaydon Design studio is the company’s first stand-alone design facility. Providing a tailor-made space for the Aston Martin design team, the facility has enabled Aston Martin to tightly integrate its renowned design capability with the engineering and production processes already based at Gaydon.

The elegant, modern pavilion was built using the very latest construction technology and is a showcase for environmentally sustainable design.

Engineering & Production Development

Continuing the company's centralisaton policy, Aston Martin decided to move production of the Aston Martin Rapide to Gaydon in 2011 with the first car being built in the second half of 2012. The new bespoke facility has added increased production flexibility, meaning all Aston Martin cars are now produced on one of three production lines. This strategy not only assures model consistency, but is also considered a key element for future engineering and product development.

Still, Aston Martin remains a long way from being a mass-producer. Each car remains essentially hand built by craftsmen with decades of experience beneath their fingertips.
